CabinHouse TradingPost was created in March of
2004 as a means to provide the jewelry and
the
by-products
of the owner's
hobbies and interests to a public market. The goal
has been to offer a line of products of different
varieties, such as
would be seen
in a "tradingpost". The mission is to establish a good business reputation
in the
market arena,
building a business relationship with satisfied customers, whether through a one-time transaction or
multiple transactions. To evolve, expand, and grow as demand dictates!
The goals and mission have not changed, but the
products and services have evolved since the store's founding. CabinHouse TradingPost has evolved into a "Tradingpost and Rock
Shop" store. We have a current
inventory
of quality stone rough for the cabbing and faceting enthusiast. A
search has begun to build a
collection
of
"rare and exotic" mineral specimens. You will be able to find and
obtain cabochons for jewelry settings, which will
be considered "the best of the exotic". We will be continually building a
supply of quality and exotic "slabs" for the
cabochon cutter. We are now beginning to offer lapidary supplies and equipment.
You will find wholesale, distribution,
and retail prices throughout our product inventory. More and more
stone rough is being obtained as "mine direct".
You
will always find some of the best
of mineral specimens, rough for the cabochon, gemstone, and carving cutter,
as well as jewelry,
fossils, collectables, and antique glassware such as depression glass and
carnival glass. Some of these items may be found on our
"eBay Store".
We are located in the area of Ward, Colorado, just under 9000 feet! Beautiful view; trout fishing, hunting, skiing, and camping at it's best!

In the environment of ecommerce, no one
should feel uncertainty about purchasing and sales transactions. CabinHouse TradingPost will always
strive
to fulfill the customers needs, whether in purchasing security,
identity security, money transactions, timely delivery, and whenever needed,
prompt refunds. Remember, your
return as a customer and
your satisfaction with your purchases is the primary goal!

supportive sales, with the best lapidary and collecting products available

of CabinHouse TradingPost is to steadily grow and develop into a
key retail supplier of Cabbing Rough, Facet Rough, Cabochons,

count on!
Our customers include the
Lapidary
Hobbyist, the Lapidary Professional, the
Jewelry Artist, and the

well as continue to offer many of the "staples" of the lapidary
community. Afghanistan Lapis, African Tiger Eye, Dominican
Republic Larimar, California Jade, Yukon Jade, Australian

Affiliations
Joint ventures with associates in
the trade as well as key "business connections" are
keeping us busy discovering
and acquiring rare and new materials for the Jewelry Artist,
Cutter, and Collector.
An "affiliation" has been developed with
"Legendary Jade and
Stone" of Gold Hill, Colorado, and "Australian
Greenstone" of Tumbulgum, New South Wales,
Australia, to bring to the online market, premium Nephrite Jade
from the Yukon Territories of upper British Columbia and Eastern Australia mining regions. See
the
"Mining and Exploration" page for pictures and more
information.
Nevada
Exploration and Prospecting
Our Nevada prospecting ventures bring to the market such
minerals as "Blue
Sage Gem Opal Chrysocolla", a beautiful and rare "green opal"
material from our prospects. The cabochons produced from
this material are considered "high-end"!. Agatized
"Opalite" is an exquisitely colored material, which when "tumble
polished" will produce some great wire wrapping stones!
Cabochons of exquisite beauty can also be produced; larger
pieces for cutting are limited. Opalite will make great
tumbling rough for the hobbyist or the wire wrapping jewelry
maker. Other materials from Nevada include the exquisite
"Desert Harvest Jasper",
"Red Canyon Jasper",
"Rose Creek
Conglomerate Jasper" and more. Nevada is a "treasure grove" of rocks and minerals for the
hobbyist as well as the professional cutter, cabber, and
collector. Thanks for visiting and return often!

Owner - CabinHouse TradingPost
History and Humble Beginnings!
When
I first became interested in "rocks" and "minerals", I bought some
prospecting supplies and hit the Arkansas River outside of Buena Vista,
Colorado. But soon I began to discover more than gold in my sluice
box. Next I set up my little workshop outside of my residence in a
tiny building with a few, modest things. Enjoying this space in
the evenings I had free, I began to grow and develop. Now I fill
three rooms of my house, a porch, and a storage area with rocks,
minerals, fossils, lapidary equipment, packaging supplies, and much,
much more. Now I do not have time for anything new anymore.
I am a very, very busy person these days.
Currently, I hold a full-time position as the "Operations
Director" for a Christian Conference
Center, Retreat, and Summer Camp known as
Glacier View
Ranch. As a salaried worker in the ministry field for the
Rocky Mountain Conference of Seventh-day
Adventists, an average of 50 to 60 hours a week may easily be
devoted depending upon the season. Because of my love for
prospecting, mineralogy, geology, and business, the
CabinHouse TradingPost venture has been
my passion "outside of my primary work". Thus, being slow to post
new listings, information, pages, updates, and more is a genuine excuse.
I devote time to the study of Tai Chi and Qigong for martial
applications. I am currently involved with the study of the
Chinese language.
My goal is simple. I will officially retire
in 2019. I currently am planning to take early retirement by 2013.
By then I feel very confident that the
CabinHouse TradingPost business will be flourishing well.
But I have not forgotten that it is and will be due to you, my customer.
I love the rocks, the minerals, the opportunities to travel and get
outdoors in search of "hidden treasures" of the earth. I love the
business and the interaction with my customers. I also love my
work in the ministry of camping for kids and adults. Even when I
retire from the official workplace of ministry, the lay ministry which
lies before me will never cease. I will take it right into every
arena I venture into or pursue. I also feel compelled to take a
venture to China, exploring the culture as a sort of "sabbatical" or
"intermission" from the workforce into my retirement world.
I
also have and extensive background working with horses. Having run
camp programs, trail ride stables, having been a high-country outfitter,
I am also a retired jockey. I began riding races at the early age
of nineteen, having worked in racing stables during high school.
My racing career was fragmented by events such as marriage, divorce, and
a yearning to travel the country using my thumb as a guide. I have
worked cattle ranches in Nevada. Returning to my racing career as
a jockey in 1992, I was somewhat successful until 1995. But after
re-establishing my faith in God, and returning to the Seventh-day
Adventist Church, I discovered that being a "Sabbath Keeper" in the
world of horse racing is next to impossible. So my choice was my
faith and my belief. As far as my Sabbath involvements with the
CabinHouse TradingPost business, it is
kept to a minimum. I currently do not rely upon the rock business
for my livelihood. If you have any questions concerning my Sabbath
beliefs and convictions I would love to try and answer them.
So this is "me" in a nutshell. So whenever
you return to the store for another visit and you do not see many
changes, be patient. Even with very busy people change will come,
it always has!
